However, most public universities offer undergraduate courses primarily in German language; so prior training in German is required. Some private universities offer professional courses solely in English. At masters and doctoral levels, students have many opportunities to undertake study and research in English.

Although education is state funded in Germany, but few courses (especially those in business management) might charge higher fees for non EU/EEA students. Competitive scholarships/grants are available from universities, DAAD and European Commission for some programs. While pursuing the course, students can work for 20 hours per week. Upon graduation, they are entitled to extend residence permit to seek jobs.
